About Me

I grew up in Berkshire, spending my time dancing or with my head in a How to Draw book (mastering the basics before attempting people and architecture). Whilst studying Automotive and Transport Design at Coventry University, I developed my digital design skills on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

AKB Designs started as thoughtful birthday gifts for my friends, which soon turned into commissioned artwork. My Let’s Sketch a Cafe Instagram series followed, opening the door to conversations with cafe goers and opportunities to sketch live at events. Art has always been a passion of mine, and when I’m not producing art for my business, I attend life drawing classes in cities across the world.

My signature faceless style focuses on personality and capturing the essence of someone – so much so that the goal is to make the person recognisable without their face on paper. I love creating art that captures the people, places and the little details that could be easily overlooked.

Whether I’m recreating a photograph as a personalised gift; sketching cafes in real time in my sketchbook; or working on digital prints and products; it’s all about adding a personal touch.

If you have a request in mind, I’d love to create something special for you.

Live event sketching adds a little magic to the room. Whether it is a wedding, brand event, or intimate celebration, guests can watch an illustration take shape and leave with a unique memento from the day.

Every commission starts with your story. Capturing thoughtful details, favourite colours, and the little things that make a memory yours.
